Business is gloomy

Business is gloomy

The arrival of wet and dismal weather last week made lockdown restrictions for local businesses even more unbearable – if that was possible.
Cafés in the main street of Bairnsdale were open for takeaway but barely doing a trade.
When the Advertiser walked by prior to lunch, each of the cafés -Northern Ground, Wooden Squirrel and Paper Chase - had one person inside ordering takeaway coffees or food to go.
At Mr D’s it was also quiet with two older women on the footpath ordering takeaway.
“The sooner everyone gets vaccinated the better”, one of the women remarked.
