Allaying growers’ fears

Allaying growers’ fears

Despite concerns by vegetable growers that a mine being proposed at the Fingerboards, near Lindenow, by Gippsland Critical Minerals (formerly Kalbar) could contaminate their farms, the company says quality controls would prevent that from occurring.
Chief executive officer of Gippsland Critical Minerals, Jozsef Patarica, says as a result of the Environment Effects Statement (EES) the company has sought to create “a bigger buffer zone” and “step back further” from the project zone, “back off where we were planning to mine originally”.

CAPTION: Gippsland Critical Minerals chief executive officer, Jozsef Patarica, at the site of the proposed Fingerboards mine processing plant, situated in Limpyers Road, Glenaladale.
