East Gippsland Shire Council has approved construction of a Quest residential hotel in Bairnsdale, on the site of a former trade supplies yard owned by Dahlsens.
The 30-room residential hotel, sited at 19 Dalmahoy Street, will provide a range of accommodation options, with six of the rooms designed to allow for comfortable living for people with limited mobility.
The architect-designed hotel will also offer business facilities including a conference room, business lounge and gym.
Each of the rooms will feature a kitchen, sleeping and lounge areas, and a  weather-protected balcony.
The development provides increased variety of accommodation choice for visitors to East Gippsland and is supported by the shire’s Bairnsdale Growth Strategy, which encourages intensification of development in the commercial centre in order to generate a greater level of activity.
