Smash and grab

Smash and grab

A brazen thief has smashed the window of a Bairnsdale jewellery store to steal watches worth thousands of dollars.
CCTV footage captured the man arriving in the arcade where Pallot‘s Jewellers is located in the early hours of Monday morning.
The man, who appears to be wearing a jacket, removes a rock from his bag and throws it against the glass window a couple of times, causing it to shatter.
He then casually bends down and places his arm through the smashed glass, loading as many watches as he can into a bag.
Jeweller, Bill Pallot, told the Advertiser, the CCTV footage revealed the man was calm and methodical in the way he carried out the audacious burglary.
“He just casually helped himself, the bloody mongrel,” Mr Pallot said.
