Omeo season abandoned

After a meeting of the Omeo District League executive and club delegates, clubs have confirmed that the Omeo District finals series is to be abandoned.
Due to the recent extension of government-imposed restrictions to community sport it has been decided by the leagues participating clubs it is not viable to continue with the 2021 finals series.
Teams that have finished on the top of their respective ladders will be recorded as “minor premiers” with no premierships awarded.
After a successful season Lindenow South had four teams finish at the top of their respective ladders, with “A” and “B” grade netball alongside senior and under 16 football all claiming the minor premiership.
According to club secretary, Kathleen Whittingham, it is a disappointing end to a COVID-affected season for those teams who were slated to take the field in finals action.
