There will be no Gippsland League senior football and netball in 2020.
Over the weekend the league's club presidents, along with AFL Gippsland representatives, determined and supported that the senior season for 2020 would be abandoned.
While the clubs were and league were disappointed to have made the decision, the sustainability of all clubs was priority.
The league last Tuesday night announced it would push forward with under 16 and under football, as well as under 13, 15 and 17 netball, with a fixture and operational requirements put in place over the weekend for a July 18 start.
There will be a nine-week home and away season played for premiership points followed by a four-week finals series that will conclude with a grand final on the weekend of October 10.
