Dr Jane Greacen is a general practitioner and occupational physician and has worked in Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance for the past 20 years.

She is passionate about community and country and intent on making a difference, which is why she has nominated as a candidate in the forthcoming East Gippsland Shire Council elections next month.

Dr Greacen believes East Gippsland can become a leader in Aboriginal employment and build support for Indigenous communities throughout the region by acknowledging their profound culture.

She is the first of the election candidates that Yeates Media has sat down with to record an interview on why she decided to stand and what she hopes to achieve if elected.
