Hot springs development tees off in Metung

Hot springs development tees off in Metung

East Gippsland could soon have Australia’s first hot springs golf course with plans for geothermal relaxation pools at Metung’s Kings Cove Golf Club submitted to East Gippsland Shire Council.
If approved, the development would allow visitors and locals to play a round of golf at the course, then relax in state-of-the-art geothermal hot and cold pools.
The project is funded by Metung Hot Springs with support of $1.5 million received from the Victorian Government’s Tourism Infrastructure Program and $1.5 million received as part of the Australian and Victorian Governments’ Local Economic Recovery Program.
The proposed hot springs and associated facilities will complement the existing golf club and improve the golf experience. It will also provide an alternative activity for those not teeing off. Once complete, the site will be renamed Metung Country Club and Hot Springs.
“Our proposal includes three geothermal pools of varying depths, a reflexology walk, sauna, relaxation lounge and a massage spa treatment area,” Metung Hot Springs managing director, Adrian Bromage, said.
