Liquor king inks deal

It’s official. Dan Murphy’s will open a store in the main street of Bairnsdale.
The Bairnsdale Advertiser revealed several weeks ago that Dan Murphy’s was looking for a site on the Princes Highway in the centre of town.
The liquor giant has signed a 10-year lease on 259 Main Street, the site of the former Bairnsdale Electrics store.
The proposed 1250 square metre building will benefit from three street frontages – Pyke, Macleod and Main Streets – and will have easily accessible carparking.
Property group, Castlerock, has just submitted a planning application to the East Gippsland Shire to develop a state-of-the-art Dan Murphy’s store on the site.
