Buchan eerie without tourists

Buchan, like many towns in East Gippsland, has been doing it tough since the lockdown restrictions were extended to regional Victoria.
Essentially a farming community, Buchan relies on tourists to keep businesses ticking over, but they’ve all but vanished.
“Quite honestly, there’s been no tourists,” owner of the Buchan General Store, Steve Harper, told the Advertiser.
“It’s been so quiet. Police are patrolling the area, so any tourists that have shown up have been sent packing.
“There’s a few tradies going through. We’re so far behind on rebuilds.”
