The Maffra Knackery has voluntarily recalled raw pet food as investigations continue into a cluster of dog deaths in Gippsland.
Product labeled as ‘Backman’s Greyhound Supplies Chopped’ and ‘Maffra Knackery Chopped’ has been recalled by the knackery.
Agriculture Victoria and PrimeSafe are continuing an investigation into the cause of severe liver disease which has resulted in the deaths of 14 dogs and a further 45 falling seriously ill in East Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley.
Raw chopped foot provided by the knackery between May 31 and July 3 has been recalled.
Anyone who has a sick dog is advised to contact their veterinarian immediately.
The complex investigation into what caused severe liver disease in the dogs is ongoing.
