Expensive camping trip

Two men in their 30s from New South Wales were issued tickets for being in breach of COVID-19 restrictions after they admitted camping on the side of the road at Buchan over the weekend.

Police said the men had camped for two nights in Windarra Road after driving seven hours from the Blue Mountains.

They were also issued two litter tickets after rubbish and glass were found at the abandoned campsite.

New South Wales lifted social distancing restrictions earlier than Victoria, but it’s unclear why the men decided to travel interstate.
