Carols close to the river

The Riviera Christian Centre was packed to capacity on Sunday for its annual Carols by the River.

Because of concerns about the weather in previous years, it was decided to hold the carols at the Riviera Christian Centre rather than actually by the river.

“It was like what we usually do except it wasn’t by the river, but indoors,” a spokesperson told the Advertiser.

“Many said there was a river nearby, so it became a bit of a standing joke for the day.”

For more than two hours, families were entertained by the church band and karaoke competitions.

There were plenty of activities for parents and children alike, with dancing.

Those who couldn’t fit into the church, spilled over into the foyer.

The highlight was the spectacular fireworks display at the conclusion of the day that took place outside.

Madison and Phoebe Zerbst, Cohen Baylis, Mia Huggins and Shelby Ross got into the Christmas spirit at Carols by the River last Sunday at the Riviera Christian Centre.
