A two lot subdivision is being proposed on 9304 square metres of land, situated behind the new Kmart building in Bairnsdale.
The area, which relates to 598 and 610 Main Street and 29 Greene Street, accords with all relevant provisions of the General Residential Zone.
The subdivision, recently submitted to East Gippsland Shire Council by licensed surveyors and town planners, Crowther and Sadler, is expected to be made available for future residential housing to boost the housing supply stock in the township.
In the application, managing director of Crowther and Sadler, Michael Sadler, on behalf of his client - Newmark Capital - said the proposed two lot subdivision “responds positively to the purpose of the General Residential Zone as it will provide opportunity for future development into an area which is serviced with a full range of reticulated services and zoned appropriately”.
“The area will have an emerging neighbourhood character as the department store develops,” he said.
