Festival arrives

The second East Gippsland  Winter Festival kicks off this weekend with the 'Beers, BBQ & Beats in Laneway3875' event this Saturday being dubbed as "a mid-winter celebration of art, music, good food and craft beer".
Starting at 6pm, the family-friendly laneway party will feature spectacular lighting projections, DJs, hip-hop artists, live acoustic music, roving performers, mouth-watering local produce prepared over fire by some of the region's best chefs, as well as a pop-up bar serving locally brewed beers, local wines and cocktails.
The music line-up will provide the beats, headlined by the eccentric DJ Eddy. No stranger to mid-winter parties, the famous resident DJ at "The Genny" on Mt Hotham will be bringing an eclectic mix of hop-hop, funk, old school dance, disco-theque and more. Eddy has rocked Falls, Meredith and Golden Plains Festivals as well as entertaining pro surfers and their cohorts at Bells Beach Rip Curl Pro and Gold Coast Quiksilver Pro.
