Leonard Fenning is a visionary who has delivered on his plan to create an intermodal freight terminal at Bairnsdale.
The new terminal beside the rail siding in Bosworth Road is now ready to operate with maximum road weight 40-foot containers able to be lifted and placed on or off rail or road trucks.
The complex is set up for 24-hour operation with lighting installed for night operation.
Further stages will incorporate storage for warehousing for goods received, refrigeration for frozen goods and cool storage.
“We are incredibly proud to have the first freight train in Bairnsdale for 13 years here at the Fenning’s Intermodal Freight Terminal,” Mr Fenning said.
