SAPPHIRECOAST - AUTUMN 2024 - MERIMBULA 11 Get set to sample the region’s best cuisine EAT Merimbula, part of the annual, four-day Sapphire Coast EAT Festival, will be happening at the Fishpen, on the foreshore of Merimbula Lake, on Sunday 10th March 2024 from 10am-2pm, celebrating the chefs, cooks and produce of the Sapphire Coast.There will be lots of Sapphire Coast stallholders offering an array of paddock-to-plate and tide-to table-experiences that give locals and visitors the chance to try the delicious fresh seafood and produce, finely-crafted wines and brews, and chef-prepared delights that make the region's cuisine so special. You'll also have the opportunity to cheeron six local chefs, food producers and foodie legends as they compete in the second annual Oyster and Spoon Race – a hilarious event comprising three laps, six pairs of waders, 18 oysters (if none get dropped) and a local Federal MP firing the starting gun! Make sure you're there at 1pm to see the second annual running of this fun race! Long Table Lunch On Saturday, 9 March, Pambula's famous seafood restaurant, Wheelers, will be running a multi-course Long Table Lunch on the deck at the restaurant, presented by chef Brad Enright and host Jacqueline Smith. The menu for the 2024 Wheelers Long Table Lunch is bursting with the best of local seafood and produce. Over the seven courses, you’ll get to sample Jervis Bay Mussels, oysters from both Merimbula and Pambula lakes, Narooma yellowfin tuna tartare, Narooma lobster, a whole-roasted blue eye, and much more! Other events across the four days of the 2024 EAT Festival include a 'small batch' dinner, a family fish 'n' chip fest, oyster-shucking workshops, a progressive dinner and much more.
